That's an older Ninja 250, and here's what it's supposed to look like:

Looks like an early 00s Ninja 250

Ninja 250 or 500, I'd wager...not a bad starter bike. Parts should be fairly cheap (in fact, with the 250's, a lot of folks don't even rebuild the engines, they just replace)

good to know, I have a PC800 and a BMW R35 so this might be fun to bang around town in

Mmmmm first gen Ninja 250. I had one for a first bike, they're a load of fun. There's something special about hitting redline in 4 gears before you've even approached the cruising speed of a road that gets addicting. Bulletproof mechanically and you can buy parts with change you find in the washer. Just don't panic brake on a rotted front tire(it doesn't go well).

It looks great. Especially in Windows 3.1 Hotdog.

Bloody disgusting. I am being genuine though. I'm not one for bikes, but that seems so discrete and restrained compared to some of the multi-vented faring-heavy monstrosities that are on the market now. In my humble non-bike literate opinion.

I toy with getting a 500 (I'm a wee bit too fat for a 250...can't rightly fold up on it and it would barely make freeway speeds with me on it...at least in the Bay Area (we're either 30 mph below or 20 mph above the limit, typically).

I'm jealous.

Wow, you're getting a better deal than I did on one of those. I spent $75 on one because it had a peg I could use for my zx6e that was going to cost me $20. I still have to get it running though.
Though, I just had to guide it down a hill and into the truck. No snow removal in freezing temperatures required.

haha yeah, I am going to go chip it out this week. Hopefully before we got another foot of the white stuff!
